About SI Utility
SI Utility is a leading manufacturer of high-quality steel poles for transmission lines, distribution lines, and substations, serving the energy sector in the Permian Basin and beyond. We specialize in durable, customizable solutions that support grid modernization, renewables integration, and reliable infrastructure. We're seeking a motivated Inside Sales Representative to join our team and drive growth in a dynamic industry, with a strong emphasis on efficient order processing to keep projects moving smoothly.

Job Summary
The Inside Sales Coordinator plays a critical role in keeping SI Utility’s sales and production pipeline moving while serving as a reliable point of contact for customers. This position requires a self-directed professional who takes initiative, owns responsibilities end to end, and maintains strong, professional client relationships in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Accuracy, urgency, and follow-through are essential to success in this role.

This role is best suited for someone who understands the importance of trust, responsiveness, and consistency in customer interactions and who takes pride in supporting energy and utility infrastructure projects that matter. The successful candidate demonstrates resilience, sound judgment, and a genuine interest in the energy sector, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality service to both internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order Entry and Processing: Review and process purchase orders (POs) with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring all details align with customer specifications, pricing, and inventory availability. Enter orders into the ERP system, verify quantities, delivery timelines, and product customizations for transmission, distribution, and substation poles. Coordinate with procurement and production teams to resolve any discrepancies and expedite fulfillment.
  • Lead Generation and Qualification: Identify and qualify potential customers through phone calls, emails, and CRM tools. Research prospects in the energy, utility, and construction industries to build a robust sales pipeline.
  • Customer Engagement: Respond to inbound inquiries, provide product information, and conduct virtual demonstrations of our steel poles. Build rapport to understand client needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Sales Process Management: Prepare quotes, proposals, and contracts using company software. Follow up on leads to convert them into sales, aiming to meet or exceed monthly/quarterly targets.
  • Terms and Conditions Review (Light): Perform basic reviews of terms and conditions in contracts and POs to ensure compliance with company standards, escalating complex issues to legal or management as needed.
  • Project Management (Light): Assist in basic project coordination, such as tracking order status, communicating updates to customers, and liaising with internal teams to ensure on-time delivery without delays in grid infrastructure projects.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain ongoing communication with existing clients to upsell, cross-sell, and ensure satisfaction. Collaborate with outside sales reps for seamless handoffs on larger projects.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, such as grid expansion in renewables or regulatory changes in Texas, to inform sales strategies.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Track sales activities in CRM (e.g., Salesforce or similar), analyze performance metrics, and report on progress to management.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with internal teams to resolve technical questions, customize product specs, and ensure timely delivery.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience: 2+ years in inside sales, preferably in manufacturing, utilities, or industrial products. Hands-on experience with order entry systems (e.g., ERP software) and PO processing is highly desirable. Familiarity with energy infrastructure (e.g., transmission or distribution equipment) is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail for order processing and PO reviews.
    • Proficiency in CRM software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and sales tools.
    • Ability to understand technical product details (e.g., steel pole specifications, load ratings, and compliance standards like ANSI or IEEE).
    • Basic knowledge of contract terms and project coordination.
    • Results-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
